President & Founder
As one of the founders of CLS, Calgary’s landscape company, Janelle has been leading the team since they started. She focuses on the management of CLS, but don’t be surprised if you see her hop in the loader to help load up some mulch in the yard. Janelle loves collaborating with clients and working with the CLS team to exceed customer expectations. One of the favourite parts of her job is seeing a customer's vision come to life. Behind the scenes, Janelle makes sure that everyone on the CLS team feels like part of the family. One of the best pieces of advice Janelle says she ever got was that discipline equals freedom. That's why when she's not working hard at CLS she enjoys travelling the world and raising her three kids with her husband and business partner Cooper.
Vice President & Founder
As a self-proclaimed CLS superhuman, Cooper shares his love of providing world-class customer service and landscape expertise with CLS co-founder and his wife, Janelle. Together they're a customer service power duo and proud parents to three girls. You can find him in all parts of the business: on-site with the landscape construction crew, working with customers or helping Janelle with management. When he isn't fulfilling his role as the funniest CLS team member you can find him enjoying a round of golf or travelling with his family.
Vice President Construction
Everyone has “a guy” they can rely on for all things landscape construction. With 25+ years of experience in construction project management, Scott's our guy. He manages all aspects of install operations, construction staff, equipment and client interaction on projects. Helping clients realize the full potential of their outdoor living space gets him giddy, along with thinking about his favourite Dave Mathews concert at the West Palm Beach Amphitheater and of course spending time with his wife and twins. Oh, and maybe BBQ ribs too. Scotts best piece of advice? It’s not a problem until it is a problem, don’t focus on the negative.
Vice President Supply
Morgan Martel is our Vice President of Supply and a seasoned veteran with over 30 years in the landscape supply industry. His roots run deep — starting in the family business and becoming a mainstay in Alberta’s hardscape supply sector. With a Bachelor of Science and an MBA, Morgan brings both practical know-how and strategic thinking to the team. He’s focused on elevating CLS in the Calgary market and beyond. At home, he’s a proud dad to soccer enthusiasts Carson and Bentley, and husband to Kiley, a dedicated physiotherapist. A big sports fan, Morgan finds balance between work and family cheering from the sidelines.
Business Development Manager
James is one of our Business Development Managers and brings 30 years of experience working in the landscape industry. From manufacturing at Expocrete to ensuring top-notch service for our residential and commercial customers, he's dedicated to making CLS the landscaper's top choice in Calgary. He's celebrating 25 years of marriage with his lovely wife Jodi and chasing around Marvin, their energetic Golden retriever. From hitting the golf course to snowmobiling and fishing adventures, James knows how to enjoy life to the fullest.
Business Development Manager
A trusted expert in landscape supply, Ashlee has spent 18 years helping contractors and landscape professionals get the right products and support for their projects. She’s passionate about building strong relationships, delivering top-tier service, and ensuring every job runs smoothly. When she’s not helping customers, Ashlee is traveling across Alberta for her sons’ hockey games or unwinding at her trailer near Camrose, making the most of summer weekends outdoors.
Cochrane Branch Manager
As our Branch Manager, Calvin has been working in the landscape industry since he was 5 years old (yes five years old), and he loves interacting with customers and helping them to transform outdoor spaces with the latest landscaping products. When not working, you’ll find him fishing and playing shows with his band The Non-Refundables, mix in his knack for concocting unparalleled martinis, and you've got the recipe for a man who masters both work and play.
South Assistant Branch Manager
Ryan is the Assistant Branch Manager at CLS South Yard, where he supports the team and ensures smooth day-to-day operations. Now in his fourth year at CLS and nearing completion of a BBA at Mount Royal University, Ryan brings fresh ideas and energy to the role. He’s passionate about personalizing the customer experience and loves hockey, the outdoors, and a good burger. If he could have any superpower, it’d be flight—just to avoid traffic!
Yard Foreman - South Store
Brenden brings a ton of experience in landscaping installations and product knowledge to help customers with their projects. He is the customer service lead and ensures everyone has a welcoming and positive experience. In another life, Brenden was a competitive bodybuilder. You can put his strength to the test next time you need help lifting something in the yard. (Just kidding - kind of!)
CLS was founded in 2009 with the first location in Cochrane which inspired the name, Cochrane Landscape Supply, which was then shortened once CLS expanded into Calgary. Today, CLS Landscape is known as an industry-leading organization centered around empowering people and providing welcoming experiences to both customers and staff.
